ADRIPASS PLUS Transnational Cooperation (INTERREG ADRION) Project
The research team of the Laboratory of Transportation Planning, Transportation Engineering & Highway Engineering Director of the Dept. of Transportation & Hydraulic Engineering School of Rural & Surveying Engineering Faculty of Engineering Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, participates to ADRIPASS PLUS project, which is under implementation after its approval through a restricted call addressed to selected INTERREG ADRION projects offering them the opportunity to disseminate and capitalize the results of their work during the first half of 2022. The ADRIPASS PLUS project is considered to be continuation of the previously implemented ADRIPASS project, which aimed to contribute to the improvement of intermodal connections in the Adriatic-Ionian region. Eight (8) partners, who had participated in the implementation of the ADRIPASS project, participate in this additional project with the acronym “ADRIPASS PLUS”:

- Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece.
- Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Serbia.
- Institute for Transport and Logistics, Italy.
- Durres Port Authority, Albania.
- Port of Bar Holding company, Montenegro.
- Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
- Luka Koper, port and logistic system, public limited company, Slovenia.
Among the most important results of ADRIPASS [besides a) the analysis of physical and non-physical bottlenecks along the Trans-European Transport Networks (TEN-T) and specifically along the Core Network Corridors in the region ADRION, with emphasis on their indicative extensions in the Western Balkans and b) the testing of specific Information and Communication Technology solutions] was the development of a Transnational Strategy for the development of intermodal transport, which was adopted by the project partners, as well as by the Ministries of the countries represented in the project and International Organizations.
The main objective of ADRIPASS PLUS project is to update the developed Transnational Strategy after consultation with national and international bodies and organisations through the Transnational Cooperation Network established in the framework of ADRIPASS project, as well as to capitalise and further develop sustainable solutions for improving multimodal freight transport in the region. Special attention will be paid to the COVID-19 effect and its consequent economic crisis.
